Space Shuttle Inlaid Pen

"To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before"

Since 1981, five NASA space shuttles (Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavor) have flown more than 130 times rocketing from the Florida coast into Earth's orbit carrying over 350 people into space and traveling more than half a billion miles.  The shuttle program expanded the limits of human achievement and broadened our understanding of the world.

As depicted in this pen, the Space Shuttle consists of three major components:

The Orbiter - Houses the Crew

External Tank - Holds Fuel for the Main Engine

Two Solid Rocket Boosters - Provides Shuttle's Lift Upon Take Off

This finely handcrafted pen was made from laser cut pieces of dyed wood which where inlaid into the dyed sky blue barrel and accented with amboyna burl wood.
